About the Show(s)
Foiled Again! has developed a small repertoire of shows appropriate to a Renaissance themed event, but is also capable of adapting any of these or creating new acts to fit any Renaissance, Medieval, Pirate, Viking, or similar themed occasion.
At our core is the couple of Kevin and Chandra Inouye, but we know a number of other talented individuals who we’ve worked with in the past, who can help us expand to meet your needs.
We do try to sneak in real historical references, techniques and characters into our acts, and include an educational (or edutainment, perhaps) component to what we do. If anyone is interested in having us come to their school, church group, library, or other such event, we’re happy to expand upon that by including our actual period sources, Q&A, etc.
The Italian Fob
Young Provost Edmund Foible, a student of the Noble
Science of Defense, faces one of his challenges in a public pryze fight in order to become a Maister. His opponent this time is the Italian rapier master Vincentimento Salivatolini. When a series of comedic misfortunes befall his would-be opponent, he and his wife are forced to make an emergency substitution for the bout.
Raffine’s Challenge
When one of Edmund’s previous victories is called into question, an anonymous challenge of honour becomes a public duel, and finally a full-blown three part brawl with a surprise ending.
The Arms Race
What begins as a demonstration of skill at arms becomes a contest of and over arms, as both Edmund and Olivia rotate through a variety of historical weaponry. Warning to parents- contains graphic acts of violence against fruit.
