From his beginning as a scholar with the London Maisters of Defense, to his studies of the newest rapier fashions from Italy and Spain, his time as ambitious Provost and finally Maister, Edmund Foible has shown himself capable of doing whatever it takes to reach the next level- provided what it takes involves no great bodily harm, plenty of opportunities for drinking, and good times all around.
With the help and encouragement of his wife, the guidance of his elderly and senile Maister George Pewter, and the gracious support of his audience at pryze fights, he works to attain the rank of Maister of the Art of Defense. After some success, he sets up shop to teach the art and science of combat to all with the will and the coin.

Walking the line between the increasingly antiquated and unfashionable London Companie of Maisters and the newly imported rapier styles, he does his best to keep everyone happy and preserve his place- and his skin.

Edmond is played by Kevin Inouye, a Seattle-based fight choreographer, stuntman, and SAFD Advanced Actor/Combatant. He is also sole proprietor of a prop weapons rental (and associated services) company, which can be found online at fightdesigner.com, as can his resume of both film and stage work.

Goodwife Olivia Foible Olivia Foible’s sharp tounge and expensive tastes are likely to get someone in trouble — luckily for her, she generally makes sure that “someone” is her husband, Edmund. Olivia wants nothing more than to see her husband obtain and keep the rank of Maister (so she can spend even more at the tailors), and will stop at nothing to see him suceed. When not tending to her children or haranguing her spouse, Olivia enjoys bouting with other women-at-arms.

Olivia is played by Chandra Inouye, a Georgia native who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies and Theater Arts. She has been certified as a basic Actor/Combatant with the SAFD, and enjoys performing in both classical and modern theater styles. Favorite roles include: Ouiser Boudreaux in Steel Magnolias, The Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods, and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. When she isn’t performing, Chandra enjoys martial arts, climbing trees, reading good books, and the company of good friends.

M. Raffine

An enigmatic challenger, once instructed in the arte of fencing by the Italian rapier maistro Vincentimento Salivatolini, whom Edmund has wronged through a falsely declared victory. Raffine is unafraid to back up accusations with steel… but can this be done without giving away a scandalous secret?

M. Raffine is portrayed by A. Johnston, who has trained with both the S.A.F.D. and the Seattle Knights, and is a former performer with the latter.
